I recommend using CT_Viewport and setting your viewport to 260, 30, 30, 30. This will leave a rendered viewport of 640x480 when running 960x540.

The release of Legion left me unable to run Warcraft at standard resolutions, and so this project began as an attempt to create a shader to emulate VGA graphics and gaming interfaces from the early 90s. I've documented the days I spent working on this project here. ("https://heartgoyonder.imgur.com/") Unfortunately with other work encroaching, I am unlikely to be able to continue working on, much less finish, what I had started.

And so I provide the work I have completed so far (mostly just XML files using in-game assets), without restriction, to whomever would like to use it. Hopefully it can be of inspiration to someone with more time to dedicate to similar pursuits.

My apologies I was not able to make greater progress, but my thanks to those who voiced their appreciation for the theme and intent of my little project.

Installation

Included in the archive are shader presets for the ReShade injector ("http://reshade.me/"), whose either 32-bit or 64-bit *.dll will need to be downloaded placed in the World of Warcraft directory, along with the ReShade.fx file. Only one ReShade.dll and ReShade.fx should be copied from the ReShade archive, no other files. The ReShade64.dll should be renamed to dxgi.dll The ReShade directory included here has all the other files needed for the shader to run. Two shaders, a CRT emulation and DOSFX color shader are included with customisations and tweaks.

These shaders have been designed for a custom 960x540 resolution, and much be edited for other resolutions. Likewise the interface has been entirely designed for this resolution: NO OTHER RESOLUTIONS HAD ANY INTENT OF SUPPORT.

The 1990 addon itself is mostly XML files specifying the design and layout of the interface. It is not functional on its own. Some custom artwork was made, but it mostly uses in-game assets to create the 'desktop'.

Everything is provided for without support: Use at your own risk. This is meant for tinkering and inspiration, rather than gameplay.
